This piece is set in the pastoral key of F major as I wanted to emphasize the gentleness of the text and the idea of a community of love undisturbed by the distractions and hectic pace of today's world.
The piece is
dedicated to Chuck Robinson
of the University of
Missouri/Kansas City
Conservatory. I was
fascinated by Chuck's
insights into music, but
even more so his insights
into the human condition
when he was a lead clinician
at an illinois ACDA summer event. I'm
pleased to have formed a
friendship with this
remarkable man.
